The most optimal position for a weapon light is directly in line with the muzzle assisting in "Minimal Barrel Shadow" when operating in the dark. Similar in concept and design with most handgun lights that are directly under the muzzle, take advantage of this rifle mount which helps place the light in the best possible vantage point. Keep in mind that moving the light off of your rail mount will help free up real-estate for other hardware, additional tools or simply provide grip leverage for ultimate weapon control.
