RevMedX is a privately owned medical products manufacturer who recently designed and engineered a revolutionary "Non-Absorbable, Expandable, Hemostatic sponge for temporary internal use" identified as the XStat®. With Combat-Medics and First-Responders originally in mind, this recently FDA approved product is an enjoined tool that was specifically designed to create a barrier to blood-flow that can cater to life-threatening bleeding wounds commonly seen on the battle-field. As far as pressure dressings go, the introduction of the XStat® is truly groundbreaking. This revolutionary tool injects tiny like sponges through a syringe like base into a cavity wound and the sponges than expand in less than 20 seconds when making contact with blood. As the sponges expand, sustaining the cavity, they begin to help control bleeding as well as applying direct pressure sealing the wound. In essence, by the time a bandage is being applied over the area treated with the XStat®, the bleeding is completely under control and the bandage would now serve to ensure the wound stays treated until further medical treatment can be administered.
